The Faculty of Chemistry is among the first faculties accredited when the University of Plovdiv was established. It is located in the main university building which is situated in the city center. Every department in the Faculty possesses several laboratories for teaching and scientific work. The Faculty of Chemistry supports 3 computer laboratories, an internal computer network, several servers for scientific and network purposes.

    The faculty staff consists of 50 members including assistant professors, associate and full professors and 20 members of the scientific personnel. Traditionally strong international relationships are held with known educational and scientific institutions worldwide.
